FAQ
Who does NeuroDiverse Community CIC support?
NeuroDiverse Community CIC supports neurodivergent and disabled children, young people, adults, families and carers. We also support Armed Forces families, veterans, professionals, schools and wider community organisations. Our work is neuro-affirming, inclusive and based on lived experience, recognising that every person’s needs, strengths and communication style are different.
Do you only support people with a formal diagnosis?
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to access support from NDC. We understand that many children, young people and adults are waiting for assessment, exploring their needs, or may not fit neatly into one diagnosis. We focus on understanding the individual and providing support that is accessible, respectful and needs-led.
What types of support does NDC offer?
NDC offers a range of community-based support, including sensory groups, youth groups, wellbeing sessions, employment support, family support, SEND guidance, Armed Forces family support, inclusive activities and neurodivergent-affirming training. Our groups and services are designed to build confidence, reduce isolation, support emotional wellbeing and create safe spaces where people feel understood.
How can I access support from NDC?
You can contact us through our website, email, social media pages or by speaking to a member of the NDC team at one of our community sessions. Some groups may require booking due to limited spaces, while other support may be arranged following a conversation about your needs. We will always try to guide you to the most appropriate support available.
Do you support Armed Forces families and veterans?
Yes. NDC provides dedicated support for the Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, reservists, spouses, partners, children, adult family members and veterans. We understand the additional pressures that can come with military life, including separation, deployment, relocation, transition, SEND, neurodivergence and access to local services. Our support aims to reduce isolation, build confidence and connect families with practical help and community.
Can professionals, schools or organisations work with NDC?
Yes. NDC works with professionals, schools, local authorities, NHS services, Armed Forces organisations, employers and community partners. We can provide training, lived experience insight, consultancy, partnership working and community-based support. Our aim is to help organisations better understand neurodivergence, disability, SEND and Armed Forces family life so that support is more inclusive, accessible and effective.
